This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition “Butterfly to Oblivion” by Roni Horn, held from 12 June to 20 September 2015 at the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles.

“It is here that we find the common ground between the exhibitions Roni Horn: Butterfly to Oblivion and Van Gogh Drawings: Influences and Innovations, which are running side by side. Drawing represents a fundamental strand of Roni’s activity as an artist. With her technique of cutting up and reassembling, she seems to base her research on the question: ‘How are movement and animation born on a surface?’ – research conducted with unusual means and pursued in three-dimensional space and in language.”
